How will arson be prevented?
The site is manned 24 hours a day, 365 days per year and has a full perimeter fence with no access for unauthorised personnel.
How do you control the risk of fire?
The risk of fire is minimised by the careful design of the plant and is of primary importance in any industrial facilty. All employees will be fully trained in how to work safely and effectively to prevent any accidents and instances of fire.
What measures are in place to control a fire should one break out?
The site will comply with all fire safety regulations so as to make sure any instances of fire are dealt with in a way which minimes any dangers to the employees and the wider public. This is done by the provision of sprinkler systems, fire dampers, sufficient spacing of buildings and implementing effective and safe procedures to deal with any situation.
What risk assessments have been carried out in relation to sitting the proposed plant next to an operational gas plant?
Neither facility is a danger to the other as the main buildings are over 100 metres apart so no specific risk assessments were deemed necessary. This view was reinforced during consultation for the first application as no concerns were raised about this matter by any technical consultee.
